MagLev Chiller in Winery, Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia

First Creek Winery, a vineyard in the Hunter Valley (NSW) retrofitted one of 3 existing Carrier Chillers with a Mutlistack MagLev™ Water Cooled Flooded Chiller. In doing so, they have eliminated all oil from their system and greatly increased efficiencies both at full and part load. Refrigeration can account for 50%-70% of winery electricity consumption, therefore improving the systems efficiency was of considerable interest.

One of the existing two old reciprocating chillers had to be replaced. The old chiller was at the state of beyond repair and extremely inefficient.

Due to the plant room access restrictions, there would be major challenges in installing a conventional design chiller. With its compact size, the modular MagLev chiller was delivered and installed in the plant room overcoming access issue.

Drop in Chiller Replacement at BMW building, Mulgrave, VIC, Australia

The existing three module chiller, over 20 years old, was replaced with the new two module water cooled scroll chiller (SRW150) over the weekend and was operational by Monday morning. The new chiller’s condenser and chilled water header system matched exactly the existing plant pipe positions, saving the owner any costly and time consuming plant pipework. The new modules slide to the existing rails without any need for base platform modification.

Multistack® Chiller Helps Georgia Hospital Improve Comfort and Save Significant Energy Costs

In late 2009 Windy Hill Hospital, Marietta, Georgia, selected the Padgett Group as their HVAC services provider. The Padgett Group was retained to not only operate and maintain the HVAC systems, but also develop long term strategies for replacing the hospital’s 20-year old chillers that had been installed in the early 1990s. These included two 200-ton air-cooled chillers for one building, and two 100-ton water cooled chillers serving the other building. The two buildings operated independently of each other.
